Summary
The Quality and Sustainability Analytics Fruits and Vegetables Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the Quality and Sustainability process and workflow functions to achieve departmental goals.
What You’ll Do
Essential Functions
● Maintains and updates Fruits and Vegetables (FnV) project data to ensure all records align with Quality Assurance standards and departmental policies
● Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects
● Assists with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows and project plans
● Manages Fruit and Vegetables work processes, systems, and/or procedures related to pesticides and analytical testing, supply chain monitoring and other processes to ensure efficient workflow
● Provides support on the following activities in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards: Sample planning and scheduling, communicate with testing laboratories and regional distribution centers to coordinate sample procurement, receives and maintains testing reports, supplier notifications, supplier traceability documents, regional distribution center rejection data, and general product problems
● Support the further development and optimization of all processes related to food safety and quality regarding the quality of the work results and efficiency as it relates to Fruit and Vegetables
● Escalate critical issues in a timely manner
● Draft and monitor deadlines for internal and external communications with stakeholders, including suppliers
● Coordinates and executes in-house reviews for Fruits and Vegetables to ensure continuous monitoring of product quality and freshness standards.
● Check and review invoices related to department activities.
● Provide support for the interfacing departments
● Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
● Basic knowledge of principles and methods of food science, physics, chemistry, or biology, consumer products regulations, production and manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices, or other relevant areas of the retail industry
● Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
● Proficient in Google Workspace Environment, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
● Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through skills
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
● High School Diploma or equivalent.
● Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field
● Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
● Bachelor’s degree.
● ServSafe, PCQI, HACCP, or other industry standard certifications/licenses
Physical Job Requirements
● Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
● Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
Travel Requirements
● This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less
than 25% of the time
● Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
