Summary

Joining our dedicated Product Development - Houseware's team, you will play a hands-on role in bringing high-performance products from concept to the shelf. Working in close partnership with our Merchandising and Quality Assurance teams, you will coordinate the daily development cycle to ensure every tool meets our rigorous technical standards and is delivered on time.

From contributing to new product innovations to preparing essential sales materials for our customers, you will be a key driver in the excellence of products sold across thousands of Lidl and Kaufland stores globally. This role is based in our brand-new, premium, eco-friendly office at Airside, Kai Tak

The objectives of the position are to:

  • Contribute to developing new products and improving existing ones
  • Coordinate and execute daily development with collaborating teams
  • Prepare internal sales materials for the customer

What you'll do

  • Conduct research regarding new relevant technologies and products
  • Understand technical requirements and specifications to be applied into product development
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams and factories, regarding technical & engineering aspects of product development
  • Coordinate daily development with teams in Asia and EU Headquarter
  • Provide support to ad hoc assignment when necessary
  • Bring in your own ideas and passion into the products (range)

What you'll need

  • Higher Diploma or above
  • Relevant experience of product development experience in Department
  • Good sense of market trends and mutual interest in Category
  • Familiar with MS Office/Google (especially PowerPoint/Slides and Excel/Sheets). Beneficial if familiar with Solidworks (or similar CAD software), Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English, additional language skills in Mandarin, German and Cantonese are beneficial
  • Proactive, self motivated and able to work independently
  • Good sense for hard goods products UI / UX
  • Able to work together with cross functional teams
  • Experience with European companies/markets/designs
  • Beneficial if Factory experience/having experience dealing with suppliers in the Department.
