Summary
As a key member of our Power Tools, SDA, or Consumer Electronics team, you will drive product excellence in close partnership with the Quality Manager. As the technical expert responsible for the quality and safety of products reaching millions of households, you will ensure every item is delivered on time and to the highest standards. Your work directly impacts on the safety of these products sold across thousands of Lidl and Kaufland stores globally, all from your base in our brand-new, premium, eco-friendly office at Airside, Kai Tak.
• Liaise on issues and product requirements related to the 3rd party laboratory testing in Europe, Asia and USA of related product groups
• Support the Quality Assurance, Merchandising and Production Team on all product and quality requirements of related products.
• Provide support and direction to the team
What you'll do
Product Certification Compliance & Process:
- Manage the QA process of your team to ensure product certification, testing reports, inspection our completed within agreed timeline additional monitoring of schedules of the projects reviewing documents/reports follow up.
- Escalating issues to your line manager for critical or major issues related to projects.
- Follow up with external laboratory to resolve the quotation or testing issues.
- Align with external laboratory and suppliers on corrective action plans when required
- Responding to comments on product from Head Office – after checking when applicable
Technical Analysis & Innovation:
- Conduct proof checks on artwork used for labelling, manuals and packaging.
- Analysis test failures and communicate recommendations to suppliers
- Suggest ideas for product improvements and present them to relevant stakeholders, travel would be required from time to time.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Provide clear updates to Merchandising Team, Product Development team and Artwork and Packaging team on safety/quality issues directly related to project particularly causing delays.
Team Mentorship:
- Develop and train team members with the support for the external 3rd party Laboratory
- Maintain a positive and Proactive communication culture with all stakeholder’s mindset should always be solution oriented.
What you'll need
• Minimum of 3 - 4 years of work experience in a Quality Assurance / QC / Engineer position
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, hardgoods or a related discipline
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required. Proficiency in Cantonese is a strong advantage (German is a plus).
• Strong technical knowledge of power tools /SDA / consumer electronic products; experience in 3rd party testing laboratories or other European retailer is a distinct advantage.
• Proficiency in Google Work Space application
