Summary
Lidl and Kaufland Asia are hiring a Product Support Engineer to join our production support - hand tools and power tools team. The successful candidate is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his/her superior:
- Responsible for delivery performance.
- Follow up all production related activities to ensure on time delivery
- Ensure cargo ready date (CRD) ready for shipment and confirmed shipment release on time
- Negotiation with suppliers to achieve the best possible price per item, in the department margin targets as defined by headquarters
What you'll do
- Monitor order status from confirmed to buy (CTB) to cargo ready date (CRD). Ensure the order can meet the schedule of each milestone according to the project plan.
- Follow up on all production-related activities to ensure on-time delivery.
- Assess production capacity and identify potential delay risks.
- Leading in kick-off meetings.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure milestones align with the agreed factory TnA.
- Support CPM meetings with stakeholders by preparing discussion points based on order status, and provide meeting recaps and action plans.
- Setup regular meeting with the suppliers to monitor the production progress and review the outstanding issues with project team. Visit the supplier to resolves issues on site if order at risk.
- Notify key stakeholders of any major production schedule issues identified.
- Ensure the goods are ready and inspected on time in order to catch the Cargo Ready Date (CRD)
- Coordinating between suppliers and local planning team to ensure the inspection and Sample Pickup is scheduled based on the T&A plan.
- Monitor high-risk orders and factories.
- Resolves bottlenecks in production (e.g. sample rejection, capacity issue and production efficiency)
- Manage quotations, price analysis, and price negotiations with suppliers within the negotiation parameters set by headquarters.
- Define the right price and quality per item to generate the best value for money for our customer.
- Manage the ordering progress and provide problem solving wherever necessary to maintain cost efficiency.
What you'll need
- Diploma or degree in in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Production role experiences
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience of manufacturing and production methods
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Mandarin
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google
- Strong negotiator with a commercial mindset
- A can do attitude with entrepreneurial spirit is a must
- Occasional travel may be required
