The objectives of the position are to:

What you'll do
The holder of the position is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his / her superior:
- Strategic & Team Leadership: Lead and organize a team of Quality Experts, drive operations to align with company strategy, and cultivate corporate culture. Monitor daily staff roles, assess capabilities, and implement improvement measures.
- Supplier and Product Quality: Ensure suppliers comply with company inspection programs and policies. Continuously monitor and improve supplier and product quality by analyzing performance, overseeing improvement plans, and managing on-site inspection programs.
- Operational & System Management: Oversee, maintain, and continuously improve the overall quality system. Develop quality control procedures to reduce defects and improve efficiency. Drive the success of supplier self-inspection programs and ensure on-time shipment release.
- Collaboration & Communication: Liaise with HQ and cross-functional teams to discuss critical project issues and ensure clear, timely information flow. Escalate major quality risks and support cross-functional teams with quality findings.
- Financial & Reporting: Be responsible for the testing budget, monitor third-party costing issues, and analyze samples and reports against company KPIs. Ensure accurate reporting and risk assessments.
- Project Management: Work on internal projects such as data analysis, SOPs, and product improvement initiatives to decrease return rates.
- Meeting & Follow-up: Arrange and attend regular meetings with factory management on quality objectives and improvement initiatives. Review weekly/bi-weekly meeting recaps and follow up on necessary actions.
What you'll need
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, a related scientific discipline, or textile engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in hardgoods and garment manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years at an assistant managerial or leadership level within the European retail market or a third-party testing laboratory. You should have solid experience in the greater Asia manufacturing landscape.
- Technical Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for garments and hardgoods. You will interpret inspection and testing reports, and accurately read and interpret EU/US regulations, directives, standards, and technical documents.
- Interpersonal Skills: Be a collaborative team player with a proven ability to build relationships, establish networks, and gain credibility at all organizational levels. You will utilize your strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to effectively collaborate with others.
- Work Ethic: You must be able to work independently under pressure with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
- Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English and the local language is essential. German language skills are a valuable asset.
- Computer Skills: Must be computer literate.
Travel: Frequent travel to factories is required.
