Summary

The objective of the position is to safeguard the legal interests of Lidl & Kaufland Asia. 

What you'll do

The holder of the position is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his / her superior:

  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts to support the business
  • Provide legal advice to business units to facilitate risk assessment and decision making
  • Manage claims, disputes, and legal proceedings
  • Develop training materials and provide legal training to the business units
  • Supervise the company secretary and manage the company secretarial function to ensure compliance, including supporting group restructuring with the assistance of external counsel
  • Implement group policies and processes of the legal function in Asia and effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders to the extent any deviation is required
  • Monitor legal developments in the countries with operation to ensure compliance with local legal requirements
  • Provide general assistance to other teams on legal-related topics and manage other ad hoc legal matters

What you'll need

  • A lawyer who is qualified in Hong Kong or Singapore with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experiences gained in law firms or as in-house counsel
  • Familiar with the legal and regulatory framework in Singapore, Hong Kong and other Asia countries
  • At least two years of in-house experience, ideally with MNCs
  • Business acumen with good communication skills
  • Strong drafting skills in English
