Summary

This position manages non-trade procurement activities across multiple countries in Asia. It is a strategic position that partners with internal stakeholders, leads complex cost negotiations, secure favorable commercial terms in contracts, and implements best-in-class procurement practices aligned with Asia standards. More experienced candidates will be considered for Assistant Procurement Manager.

What you'll do

The Senior Procurement Specialist/ Assistant Procurement Manager is mainly responsible for the following areas:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs, assess risks, and identify cost efficiency opportunities.
  • Lead all cost negotiations and draft/review commercial terms in contracts to maximize value and minimize risk
  • Manage end-to-end RFx bidding processes, from preparation to award, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely execution of key projects.
  • Provide Procurement advice to internal stakeholders on all non-trade procurement-related matters and ensure compliance with the Tender Procedures for Non-Trade Goods and Services Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Conduct regular reviews of SOP and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Identify cost-effective solutions and continually monitor any cost related aspects to ensure financial KPIs are met.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for value and quality improvement by analysing historical non-trade spending data, assessing costs, and reviewing processes. Report on the performance of non-trade categories, identifying issues and proposing resolutions.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all non-trade purchasing activities and cost savings, ensuring strong data integrity.
  • Any other duties assigned by Manager.

 

What you'll need

•    University degree or equivalent
•    Minimum 5 years in procurement, with strong expertise in non-trade (indirect) procurement 
•    Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to lead cost negotiations and manage complex contracts
•    Good knowledge of procurement best practices, financials and cost analysis
•    Demonstrated experience in managing Purchase Order (PO) systems and related work-flows.
•    Proven track record in creating and implementing procurement strategies that deliver measurable financial savings.
•     An effective communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills
•     Advanced knowledge of the procurement industry cost structures and drivers
•     Strong analytical skills and an experienced user of Google workspace tools.
•     High proficiency in both written and spoken English
