Objectives

• Independently and proactively direct all technical and quality assurance operations for garments sourced through Lidl & Kaufland Asia.
• Oversee and execute comprehensive quality assurance processes.
• Serve as a regional quality specialist, partnering with global QA teams to support and align with overarching corporate quality goals.
• Pinpoint opportunities to continuously enhance QA department systems and workflows while preserving a lean, cost-effective model.

What you'll do

• Oversee garment technical development from prototype creation to full-scale production.

• Analyze and refine patterns, grading, marker plans, and garment measurement specifications.

• Evaluate garment fit, structural integrity, workmanship quality, and sizing accuracy.

• Assess Tech Packs, measurement charts, Bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly requirements.

• Lead supplier fit evaluations and communicate clear technical feedback to resolve issues.

• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, external suppliers, manufacturing facilities, and pattern makers.

• Track progress across all sample stages, including Proto, Fit, Size Set, Pre-Production (PP), and Production.

• Proactively detect technical and manufacturing bottlenecks and implement effective resolutions.

• Review fabric utilization, marker efficiency, and overall manufacturing viability.

• Ensure garments comply with quality benchmarks, customer expectations, and approved technical parameters.

• Maintain detailed technical documentation and monitor all pending comments and sign-offs.

• Collaborate with suppliers to execute findings from garment safety risk evaluations.

• Offer technical expertise on quality standards, regulatory compliance, and safety risk management.

• Drive continuous improvement programs to elevate garment quality and partner capabilities.

• Partner with international counterparts to establish testing criteria for QA initiatives.

• Liaise with vendors and testing facilities to manage sampling, audits, laboratory testing, and reporting.

• Define and document comprehensive quality guidelines.

• Draft and align technical specifications for new garment programs.

• Upkeep risk assessment profiles and technical garment specifications.

• Examine lab test reports and quality documentation prior to authorizing garment release.

• Investigate garment quality issues and non-conformances by engaging relevant stakeholders.

• Stay informed on industry trends, evolving product safety risks, and changing regulatory requirements.

What you'll need

• Degree in Textile Engineering or a related discipline from a UGC-recognized university.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a garment technician, possessing robust technical expertise in garment construction, fitting, measurements, pattern making, grading, and marker planning.

• Proven expertise in 2D CAD software.

• knowledge of fabrics, trims, sewing processes, washing, finishing, and laboratory testing protocols will add extra value.

• Solid grasp of manufacturing feasibility, material consumption, yield optimization, and production efficiency.

• Strong analytical capabilities paired with effective problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.

Essential

• A deep understanding of apparel manufacturing processes. 

• Focus on quality and delivering what’s right for the customer – only the best is good enough 

• Project Management Skills 

• Strong knowledge of European, USA and Asian apparel regulations and standards. 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
