We are seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated Assistant Tax Manager to join our Tax department. The Assistant Tax Manager will be responsible for the day to day tax functions for Lidl Ireland and Lidl Northern Ireland. We are looking for someone who can effectively communicate and collaborate in a positive and professional manner with all relevant parties. The Assistant Tax Manager will report directly to the Tax Manager.
What you'll do

Operational preparation of Irish & UK tax returns to include corporation tax, VAT, RCT

Preparation of monthly P&L charges and balance sheet accounts to include corporation tax and deferred tax

Preparation of annual corporation tax charge

Analysing capital expenditure for the purposes of capital allowances

Review of excise duty returns and alcohol process throughout the company

International taxation reporting

Participation in internal and external tax audits

Evaluation and problem solving in respect of all VAT, custom & excise, corporation tax, and any other tax related matters as required
What you'll need

Third level degree (Business, Administration, Finance, Accounting, Taxation or Law)

AITI qualification (part or fully qualified)

Professional Accounting qualification desirable (part or fully qualified)

Minimum of 2 years’ Irish tax experience, ideally gained in a Big 4 firm or multinational environment

Strong communication skills

Analytical with good attention to detail

German language skills are an advantage but not essential

SAP knowledge is an advantage
