We are seeking a customer-focused, highly motivated IT Technician to join our IT Store & Customer team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting store and retail systems used in over 220 stores across the island of Ireland, providing best in class IT support and customer service.
To be qualified for this role, you should hold a degree in a relevant field, like, Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
What you'll do
- Keep the POS systems and customer facing solutions running smoothly in our stores
- Support new store openings and store modernisations to deliver the latest technology standards to our store colleagues and customers
- Provide comprehensive technical support for store and retail systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems including root cause analysis, testing of proposed fixes and follow up to ensure the problem has been resolved
- Respond to IT emergencies and provide timely resolutions
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on store IT systems
- Support team members in the execution of projects including the creation of technical concepts and relevant documentation
What you'll need
- Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role with client-facing experience
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
- Experience with POS systems and retail IT infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Comfortable with learning new systems and applying them in every-day use
- Understanding of KPIs and SLAs with proven ability to adhere to them
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are a plus
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours if needed
What you'll receive
We offer a competitive and transparent salary system, that ensures pay equality across all positions at Lidl
- €36,500 rising to €49,500 after 3 years
- Flexiwage will allow you to split your monthly pay over the month - weekly or fortnightly options available
