We are seeking a dynamic Internal Communications Manager to aid in communicating the mission and activities of Lidl’s growing organisation. The ideal candidate will drive both strategy and execution of employee communications and storytelling. They’ll be energised by being a part of a fast-moving organisation and working at pace. Also, they’ll be passionate about using their communication skills to help define our culture, inform employees of what’s important at Lidl, inspire and connect our teams and drive business results.
What you'll do
- Develop and deliver annual internal communications strategy aligned to business priorities
- Plan, develop and manage content across all internal communications channels; intranet, app, digital screens, employee magazine and town halls to ensure all employees are fully informed of news and company initiatives
- Ongoing channel management review and optimisation
- Implement and measure strategic internal communication plans that reflect business objectives and reinforce the company’s vision and mission
- Support other business areas with communications challenges, providing impactful solutions with measurable results
- Build relationships across the wider business at every level and with colleagues across other Lidl countries
- Develop strong relationships with the Board and Senior Directors to craft authentic stories that resonate across a diverse employee group
- Curate and share employee stories, creating compelling narratives that create emotional connection and bring our purpose and values to life
- Management of external agencies on planning and delivery of internal events within budget
- Management of external agency and editorial team developing internal employee magazine
- Regular reporting and measurement of internal communication both nationally and internationally
- Management of departmental budget and financial administration
- Assisting the wider Communications team and Corporate Affairs Department with internal events as required
- Act as a cultural ambassador, ensuring our values are consistently communicated
What you'll need
- Proven experience of minimum three years in the management of internal communications or culture/engagement roles
- Excellent storyteller and communicator with the ability to create emotional connection to content
- Excellent writing and grammar skills with strong copywriting and proof-reading skills and keen attention to detail
- In depth understanding of our business and how communications can impact on this
- Creative ability to plan and design content across various channels e.g. posters and video
- Data driven approach to measuring impact
- Experienced in budget management
- Knowledge of SharePoint or graphic design is an advantage, but not essential
- Knowledge of different CMS systems is an advantage, but not essential
- Qualification in a communications and media related subject desirable but not a requirement
- Full driving license is essential

- €51,000 rising to €65,000 after 3 years
