We are seeking an optimistic and enthusiastic Senior Procurement Manager to lead our tender negotiations across the Equipment & Technology (GNFR) team while bringing our "Cost Focused" DNA to life across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Strategic Sourcing & Cost Leadership: Develop and execute a multi-year Procurement strategy for Equipment and Technology aligned with Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland’s growth targets and "Cost-Focused" DNA. 
  • Negotiation Excellence: Lead high-value tender negotiations, relentlessly driving Value for Money (VFM) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across all spend areas. 
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage a vast, complex portfolio of local Irish and international suppliers. Act as the primary interface and the “face of Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland” for national and international vendors. 
  • Group Networking: Build strong relationships with SBES (Schwarz Beschaffung) to deeply integrate local operations into international Procurement networks, leveraging global economies of scale. 
  • Organisational Influence and Collaboration: Manage, prioritise, and execute incoming Procurement requests from the wider business, serving as a reliable partner while ensuring all requests align with commercial goals and budget standards. 
  • Procurement as a Strategic Partner: Continue to actively broaden the Procurement team’s remit, positioning the department as a strategic partner that adds value to every area of the business. 
  • Project Management: Support cross-functional project teams by seamlessly delivering complex sourcing initiatives on schedule and within budget. 
  • Innovation: Act as a forward-thinking leader who looks beyond standard cost-savings. You will introduce agile sourcing practices and adopt emerging technologies to ensure our supplier portfolio remains resilient and modern.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with SBES (Schwarz Beschaffung) sourcing guidelines and adherence to global KPIs. Implement Procurement best practices and ensure adherence to defined procedural standards across the business. 
  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Procurement Managers, fostering a high-performance, cost-focused culture. Promote continuous professional development and knowledge-sharing within the team. 

What you'll need

 

  • Experience developing and implementing Procurement strategies across multiple spend categories.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with the drive to take ownership of projects. 
  • Ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to stakeholders. 
  • Proven experience leading complex supplier negotiations, contract management and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into commercial recommendations. 
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outputs. 
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments. 
  • Advanced IT literacy (including Google Suite) and robust administrative capabilities. 
  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline.
