Lidl’s Audit team is seeking a (German Speaking) Associate Consultant for a 14-month Temporary Assignment to drive operational excellence and compliance. Partnering closely with your line manager, you will move beyond standard audit procedures to take full ownership of audit lifecycles, data integrity, and stakeholder collaboration, ensuring our operations remain sharp and impactful across the business.
Please be aware, should this Temporary Assignment have the potential to go permanent, the colleague on the Temporary Assignment will have first-refusal of the role (provided measures have been met).
What you'll do
- End-to-End Audits: Lead audits from planning through to completion, including opening meetings, on-site analysis, and constructive closing discussions
- Reporting: Draft clear, actionable audit reports and agree on corrective measures with stakeholders
- Follow-up: Track implementation of agreed measures and determine the necessity of follow-up audits
- Independent Remits: Confidently manage and execute smaller audit remits independently
- Operations: Schedule audit appointments, select properties, define sample sizes, and manage audit routes via the LPW platform
- Systems: Maintain master data and introduce audit programs in Audimex; extract and consolidate crucial data for review
- Administrative Control: Manage department invoices, expense reports, and office supplies while monitoring tasks via Thinktime/ToDo
- Global Liaison: Participate in international meetings, synthesise key outcomes, and translate content for the GB team
- Presentations: Prepare engaging materials and distribute critical reports in both English and German (where required)
- Documentation: Update and refresh procedures, manuals, and review reports to maintain high standards
What you'll need
- Previous experience in internal or external audit is advantageous
- Fluency in German is essential for effective reporting and participation in international meetings
- Professional working knowledge of Google Workspace
- Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel for approximately 20% of the role
- Ability to dissect complex problems and scenarios in detail
- Exceptional verbal and written skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
- A self-starter capable of managing conflicting deadlines with high attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with total discretion
