A new opportunity has arisen within our dynamic and growing organisation to join our Employment Law team based at our Head Office as a HR Compliance Consultant. 

This is an exciting and diverse role that will work closely alongside the Head of Employment Law & HR Compliance and various internal teams to ensure compliance with our business processes alongside relevant legal and internal guidelines, utilising and building upon our internal Compliance Management programs (CMS) and helping to ensure colleagues operate within a robust, fair, and compliant framework. 

With your highly professional approach and wealth of experience, you'll demonstrate a commercial and common-sense approach and will have the knowledge, confidence, and skill to influence and advise a range of stakeholders. 

You’ll hold an integral and meaningful role in influencing and driving forward HR legal compliance, working with the wider HR team to identify areas of risk and supporting them to develop and maintain controls, ensuring adherence to Laws and Regulations, and company internal regulations. 

What you'll do

  • Overseeing & influencing HR compliance management for Employment Law and the wider HR Department 

  • Initiating new ideas and continuous improvement initiatives to improve HR compliance and increase knowledge and awareness within the business 

  • Following up on the relevance and application of the current CMS programme 

  • Collaborate and support the HR department in the identification and mitigation of risk and overseeing the regular review of focused risk areas 

  • Seek and incorporate feedback on policy usability, effectiveness and compliance in practice 

  • Supporting on HR compliance audits 

  • Supporting HR department in internal audits 

  • Use data insights to identify risks and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Ensure policies and processes remain aligned with legislation 

  • Develop and implement a structured policy management framework, including version control, access and a rolling schedule of review cycles 

  • Oversee compliance with internal compliance tools 

  • Ad-hoc tasks as and when required 

What you'll need

  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application through a HR Generalist role or similar 

  • CIPD Level 7 (is desirable) 

  • Previous experience in an HR Compliance role / carrying out HR Compliance activities supporting audits, accreditations, or governance processes is desirable 

  • Ability to influence stakeholders, with strong communication and influencing skills

  • Confident working independently while collaborating with a wider team 

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated Project planning and implementation skills 

  •  Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Experience within a retail or hospitality environment would be advantageous
