Our IT Retail Solutions department is looking for an experienced and driven professional, who has a passion for store related IT systems to join our team and build a career in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Our IT Retail Solutions department is responsible for ensuring operations of various IT systems used within Lidl GB stores, including the identification, specification, and delivery of solutions to meet business requirements. The store solutions in scope include, but are not limited to, manned-checkouts, self-checkouts, and card payments.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to capture business requirements.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure obtained solutions and services are fit for purpose.
- Coordinate functional specifications for system developers, to support the implementation of system enhancements.
- Ensure the IT solutions technical capabilities are fully utilised and meets the end-users’ expectations.
- Manage the full lifecycle of dedicated IT Solutions, including change management and deployment.
- Assess, plan, and implement business projects by taking on a Project Manager and/or Technical Lead role.
- Provide a professional and expert level of 3rd line support, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
- Create and maintain documentation, including system configuration, testing scripts, and knowledge base articles.
- Create and deliver presentations to key stakeholders.
- Provide ‘out of hours’ on call support on a rota basis (approx. 1 out of 6 weeks)**.
- Occasional local and overseas travel / overnight / weekend work due to off-site meetings, and system support.
What you'll need
- Subject Matter Expert experience of supporting at least one of the following systems: manned-checkouts, self-checkouts, or card payments.
- Experience of incident and change management within an ITIL environment.
- Experience in learning new systems and processes.
- The ability to demonstrate initiative and solution ownership.
- Experience in communicating with and acting as an interface between technical and functional teams.
- The ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Project Management experience.
- PowerShell and/or Python experience would be desirable.
- UK driving licence is strongly preferred.
