Our GB Non-Food Department is now hiring a Non-Food Buying Consultant for 6 months Temporary Assignment. The infamous variety of the “Middle of Lidl” is one of the main reasons that our customers love to keep coming back week on week, and no week is ever the same! You will be responsible for the management of our Non-Food product portfolio, which has key strategic importance to the success of the Lidl GB business.
You will need to have excellent negotiation skills and a positive mindset in order to consistently achieve results within a fast-paced environment. You would need to promote a strong team culture and maintain a highly collaborative working style with stakeholders throughout the business.

What you'll do
•Perform market and commercial analysis to facilitate the creation of Non-Food purchasing and ordering strategies including market observation, trend analysis and range planning
•Drive the commercial positioning of Non-Food with innovative and creative thinking
•Define hero ranges and products with a customer focused mindset
•Negotiate existing and new Non-Food products with suppliers
•Retail price setting to ensure competitive position, protection of goods in margin and sell through in line with KPIs
•Working with international stakeholders to ensure excellent cooperation and customer focussed mindset
What you'll need
- You will have recent Buying experience
• Strong Negotiation skills is essential for this role
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships
• A passion for retail and products, as well as a deep interest in non food market
• A drive to make the category the most successful it can be through commercial thinking and initiative
• Self-starter with the drive to shape their day/tasks
• A strong multi-tasker with excellent organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors
• Intermediate level Excel skills
• Fluency in German is desirable but not essential
• A confident and resilient approach capable of working closely with the highest levels of the business
• Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret and analyse complex data
• A creative and forward-thinking commercial operator who is able to quickly adapt to our high-pressured business environment and uncertain market conditions
• The ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines
• Driving license
