
What will you do?
- Deliver in conjunction with the Senior Sustainability Manager a 5 year-roadmap to achieve targets up to 2025, including a comprehensive resourcing plan to support the defined roadmap
- Liaising with key client stakeholders to develop and help deliver their sustainability assortment strategies (GM’s, MM’s)
- Drive the research for alternative materials and production methods to achieve sustainability targets
- Drive the research for alternative materials and production methods to achieve sustainability targets and or wider sustainability assortments
- Identifying sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlighting any opportunities to increase the organisation’s sustainability credentials
- Assist Merchandising and factories in quoting sustainability products accurately and cost-efficiently
- Assist and monitor factories with obtaining defined sustainability certification requirements
- Compile and communicate sustainability reports to demonstrate compliance with sustainability targets for products ranges
- Represent and lead within industry forums and collaborations. Attend forums, build relationships, and gather information to enable our 2025 and beyond targets
- Research, develop and implement a ‘Sustainability’ index for all active factories within the Lidl pool
What will you need?
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline preferred
- Minimum 3 - 5 year experience working in the field of sustainability
- Technical knowledge of various industry certifications required by the Textiles industry to deliver sustainably certifed products. (STeP, MIG, Green Button, CmiA, GOTS, OCS, GRS, RCS, DETOX etc etc)
- Excellent communication skills to rationally explain, explore and discuss sustainability issues, as well as to sell your ideas and services
- Sound persuasive skills to navigate resistance to change and influence people to accept your ideas
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; anticipate needs and be proactive in resolving issues; and follow Lidl HK policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Autonomous, proactive, detailed and commercially minded
- High degree of works ethics and integrity
- Good command of both spoken and written English. Additional languages is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications especially Excel, Word & Powerpoint
